Project Overview
MetLife, a leading global insurance provider with nearly 43,000 employees worldwide, hosts the Innovation Challenge, where interns and program attendees collaboratively devise and pitch creative solutions to specific challenges. This year, our goal was to "reimagine onboarding to ensure a modern high-touch and high-tech experience that accelerates and fosters connection, inclusion, and productivity."
Our solution, MetSetGo, addresses the challenges of decentralization, resource navigation, and complex scheduling. MetSetGo is a self-service, three-component employee onboarding system focused on the new hire's first five days. It leverages technology to reduce potential miscommunication between hiring managers and new employees, standardizes learning and training for each role to eliminate knowledge gaps, and serves as a comprehensive platform for accessing employee-related information and resources.

Role & Team
My Role
I coordinated weekly sprint meetings to ensure we met our target deadlines, enabling us to qualify for the competition. I facilitated engaging discussions to foster collaboration among team members. Additionally, I conducted sprint reviews with stakeholders to gather constructive feedback and led sprint retrospectives to refine our project. Together, we utilized Figma to collaboratively create both low-fidelity and high-fidelity wireframes and prototypes.

Lessons learned
From this project, I gained valuable insights into the art of taking calculated risks. I learned that rather than fearing risk, it is crucial to carefully evaluate options before taking action. This approach ensures that deadlines are met, goals are achieved, and desired outcomes are realized. Balancing the potential benefits and drawbacks of each decision allows for informed and strategic choices that contribute to overall project success.
What I'd do differently
If I were to redo this project, I would proactively seek clearer parameters for the project from the outset. I would also increase the frequency of stakeholder reviews to better understand their expectations. Internally, I would implement more structured meetings with clearly defined objectives and roles to ensure smoother progress toward our goals.
